The legend is correct. I tossed a coin in the Trevi fountain and went back years later. I tossed another coin in the second visit hoping for a 3rd visit to the Trevi fountain.

The piazza where the fountain is located is buzzing and so alive. I imagine the fountain is frequented much of the day. It's all about timing to get a spot in front of the fountain to get in a photo for posterity sake.

It's one of the most beautiful fountains I have seen thus far, beautifully carved reliefs and such detailing. It's gorgeous on a beautiful clear and sunny day. You can see hints of rainbows from the spray.

Check out any of the wonderful cafes down each of the pathways leading from the Trevi fountain for some tasty beverages, hot or cold.

This is and many parts of Rome is why it's one of my top 5 favorite cities and places to visit around the world.

    Free, crowded, and impressive.

It's Fontana di Trevi ... the largest baroque fountain in Rome and ground zero for thriving tourism in this historic neighborhood.

Of course, I've seen Trevi Fountain in the movies, Instagram, and Las Vegas, but experiencing the real fountain amongst a horde of picture-taking, coin-throwing tourists (like myself) was a lure that I couldn't resist over several days visiting the area. No matter the day or time, I was drawn again and again up Via della Stamperia to be a part of the energy and masses that surround Fontana di Trevi.

The monumental statues from 1762 and never-ending flow of water into the wide travertine stone pool is fertile ground for selfies ... and photobombs by unaware strangers. It all takes place under the watchful eyes of local police officers frequently whistling and waving at anyone attempting to sit on the fountain's edge ... or steal any of the 3,000 euros tossed in daily (donated to a charity to feed those in need).

The world (and you) didn't need another 5-star review raving how this free, crowded, and impressive fountain is a must-see attraction in Roma, but that is, in fact, what you just finished reading.

    Ciao! Ciao!

No tickets are necessary to see Trevi Fountain. Finished in 1762, restorations are done 1998.

I am suggesting to come and see the Trevi Fountain multiple times during your visit. Day is beautiful, but at night you might take better pictures. Christmas time, they say it is their low season. But the amount people visit this site too is insane. If you can find a spot, sit by the fountain and watch, spend some time over there.

Don't forget to toss some coins, with your right hand over left shoulder.. Happy wishes everyone, i hope they come true!!!

P.s. there are some people take pictures for €5 print it and give it to you. Picture quality is not that great, your iphone can take better pictures, so it is up to you.

Well, I guess this place is one of the top reviewed places on earth and there are not many other fountains in the world as lavishly decorated and sculptured as the Trevi fountain. One of the city's most popular tourist attractions and arguably the most famous fountain in the world.

Some History: the fountain pays tribute to the Roman God Oceanus who can be seen riding his chariot pulled by Tritons and taming several Hippocampus. The detail of the sculptures is simply wonderful and the whole facade and fountain are a true work of art. This 17th-century masterpiece is Rome's largest fountain,

It has become a tradition to throw coins into the water over your shoulder for good luck (also a tradition that is supposed to assure your return to Rome) although trying to do so next to hundreds of other tourists might prove difficult: P

Do be aware that it's likely going to be crowded here at pretty much any time of day! And of course mind pickpockets.  I prefer night time and it was gorgeous. Venchi (yes tat famous chocolate shop) is nearby so do try that

Beautiful, romantic and architecturally mind blowing must see! Be ready to just hang out there and take pictures, grab some gelato and chill. It's someplace that you can bring the family, date or a big group and no one is disappointed!
